Police Brutality during 2017 Presidential Elections: During the 2017 Kenyan presidential election, the police were accused of excessive use of force against protesters. Human rights groups and international observers documented cases of police brutality, including the use of live ammunition against protesters, resulting in dozens of deaths and injuries.
